Every year The Wanamaker Trophy is given to the winner of the PGA Championship, one of golf’s four "Majors”. The Wanamaker is a symbol of excellence on the course, but it also represents the efforts of over 29,000 Certified PGA Professionals who work daily to grow interest and participation in the game of golf.

Golf. My Future. My Game. is a non-profit organization whose mission is to foster greater diversity in the game and business of golf. Through a number of targeted programs, the organization identifies women, millennials, communities of color, and kids to promote education and career development opportunities in the golf industry.
CitySwing is an immersive indoor technology experience making golf convenient and accessible to everyone. Located in Downtown D.C., the space was created for a wide range of golfers from those addicted to the game, to those that have never imagined themselves participating.

A discussion about the storied history of golf in Washington DC and communities of color. Visitors learned about the rich history of Langston Golf Course, and the bold impact this course has had in nurturing diversity in the sport over the past 80 years! The conversation was energized with talk about the past, the present and future of golf as we explored truly honest conversations about diversity in the golf industry.

Former and current golf professionals discussed what life is like on the Professional Golf Circuit. Guests heard how these athletes got started in the sport and learned what it takes to make it to the professional ranks. The conversation ranged from favorite practice drills, to tips for playing under pressure, to how we can increase the numbers of minorities that play professionally.

“Caddie’s Corner: Stories from Caddies.”
A unique conversation about Caddying from all perspectives. This panel discussed the evolution and impact of the Caddies’ role in professional golf over the past 50+ years. Thought-provoking stories included the Caddy experience at the 1964 US Open at Congressional Golf Club. Guests learned how to get started caddying and how you can go from “carrying a bag” to “employee” after 1 round!

In addition, the conversation included how the $84 Billion industry of Golf is seeking diverse talent and how to get started.
