ABOUT THE TOURNAMENT
With the support of the PGA Tour, the Inaugural Charlie Sifford Sr Invitational Cup Tournament will be played Saturday, June 4th in a Ryder Cup Format with a 8 AM (EST) starting tee off. The tournament will feature 12 youth players from Golf. My Future. My Game. and our west coast foundation partner ACE Kids Golf out of Oakland, CA versus 12 players from The First Tee - Greater Washington, D. C.
Boys and girls will play side by side on the historic, Langston Golf Course. Spectators are welcome at no charge.

ITINERARY
Day I
Birthday Celebration
The experience kicks off on Thursday, June 2, celebrating the legendary Dr. Charlie Sifford’s 100th birthday at the historic Langston Golf Course in Washington, D.C. The Invite Only Birthday celebration will take place from 5- 7 PM on the grounds of the historic Langston Golf Course.
Sifford, the first African American to play on the PGA Tour and the first African American to be inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame, died on February 3, 2015, in Cleveland, Ohio. His son, Charlie Sifford Jr., is confirmed to be in attendance.
Day II
National Museum Visit
On Friday, June 3, several of Mr. Sifford’s golf artifacts will be memorialized and placed in the National Museum of African American History and Culture, a Smithsonian Institution museum established in 2003 and located on the National Mall in Washington, D.C.
To date, the Museum has collected more than 40,000 artifacts representing the African American experience, from the Colonial era of slavery to the election of the nation’s first African American president. most certainly, the items of Charlie Sifford will be a must-see collection.
Day III
Tournament Day
The Inaugural event’s festivities will conclude on Saturday, June 4, with the Charlie Sifford Invitational Cup golf tournament beginning at 8 AM ( EST)
Immediately following the tournament an (invite only) awards reception will be held on the grounds of the Historic Langston Golf Course. The funds raised from this event will go towards supporting the philanthropic work of Golf. My Future. My Game. and First Tee – Greater Washington, DC..
LANGSTON GOLF COURSE
Langston Golf Course is located on Benning Road in northeast DC, at the end of the DC Street Car Line. This historic 18-Hole course was named after John Mercer Langston, the first African American elected into public office. The facility is a celebrated beacon of African American golf heritage. Recognized for its staunch support of youth and family outreach programs, Langston is popular with all age groups. The facility offers a driving range and is home of The Langston Grille - best known for it's delicious all day breakfast.
